General Rules

 

MaddenVille is a connected franchise,is looking for people that like playing the game and also enjoy a simulation-like experience.
We look for players that are mature, reliable, active, fun, and possess some common sense (defined below).

If you ever hit up any of the commishes we have four commishes

League Settings

  • Salary Cap: ON

  • Skill Level: All-Pro

  • Quarter Length: 8 Minutes

  • Accelerated Clock: On

  • Injury: On

  • Pre Existing Injury: Off

  • Trade Deadline: On (Wk 12)

  • Custom Playbooks: Allowed

  • You must stay active in this league or you risk being booted if inactive after 5 days. It is your responsibility to check chat for announcements and information as well as on this site

Offense

Hurry Up

 

  • Using hurry up offense sporadically is legal. A drive with all no huddle is fine; but not on every drive. Down 3 scores in the 4th? Feel free to no huddle every play. Again, common sense.

4th Down

 

  • Allowed to go for it when past the 50 yard line if it's 4th and 2 or shorter anytime of the game.

  • Allowed to go for it from anywhere when down by 17 or more points in the 3rd quarter

  • Allowed to go for it from anywhere when down by any amount of points in the 4th quarter.

  • Also are allowed one time to go for it, at any point and time ONCE  per game anywhere on the field.

2-Point Conversions
 

  • Allowed any time 

 

Chew Clock 
 

  • Allowed at all times

 

Play Selection 

 

  • You are expected to play with a variety of formations and players. Do not use the same two or three plays consecutively. 

CPU

  • When playing a team run by the CPU, you must play the whole game. No offense/Defense only or play moments.

  • Games vs the CPU games must be played within 24 hours of advance time. If you cannot play your game within 24 hours, you're expected to notify a commissioner of your scheduling situation and let us know when you expect to play. 

Defense

  • No defensive restrictions

Special Teams

  • Onside kicks may only be attempted if you’re tied or trailing. Consecutive onside kicks may only be attempted in the second half.

Game Guidelines

  • If up by 3 TD’s against the computer in the 4th, run out the clock and punt out of the end zone/take FG’s to end drives.

  • If up by 25 in the 4th vs user opponent, stat padding is not allowed. Sub in back ups, put on chew clock, and punt of the end zone/take FG’s to end drives.

 

Fake field goals and fake punts will be governed according to the rules regarding 4th downs in the Offensive section below.

 

Trades

  • Trades with a CPU team are not allowed. 

  • Team can make 4 trades per season

  • All trades must be pre-approved by the trade committee

  • New owners cannot execute trades until they've been in the league for 3 in-season weeks

 

Position Changes

  • Any Position change must go through one of the commishes

Quitting

  • Quitting at any point during the game is not allowed. If an emergency comes up during the game anytime before the last four minutes of the 4th quarter, you will be asked to forfeit the game, even if you are up by a large margin unless your opponent decides you deserve the win.
